Notes (text and files) are encrypted after creation, and only those you share the note link with can access the data. You can set a note to self-destruct once it has been read or after a certain amount of time. In addition, our servers never see the encryption key and cannot read the contents of any notes sent or received using our service.

The name Kilocrypt is derived from combining the digital memory unit kilobyte with the term encrypted to refer to the encoding (encryption) of data (kilobits). The prefix kilo can also mean “thousand” whereas the word crypt refers to a secure vault.
